The Lamb
(unknown)

The white man has been my shepherd,
I have always been in want.
He maketh me to lie down in welfare and poverty
He feedeth me filth in the noisy rat-infested ghetto,
He despiseth my soul.
He leadeth me into the nightmare of inhuman labour
For his profit's sake.
Yea, when we toiled in the cotton fields of death
He was doing no evil, for he said his God was with him.
His whip and his chain comforted him.
He preparest a table before me on television
In the presence of my hungry children.
He annointest my head with self-hatred and bitterness.
My cup runneth over.
Surely the fight for liberation and truth
Shall drive me all the days of my life
Until we dwell in the house of freedom, justice and equality
forever and ever.

AMEN
